Our Service Area

Sign up to serve older adults in suburban Cook, Grundy, Kendall, and Will Counties

Our most urgent need right now is for Meal Delivery Drivers. Just 1-2 hours of your time a week can help us bring delicious, nutritious needs to seniors in your community. Please refer to the list below to find the location closest to you or give us a call at (815) 263-7587 and we will find the best location for you.

Step 1: Complete Volunteer Interest Form

The need for these services is greater than ever. More than 450,000 seniors in Illinois face food insecurity, making reliable access to nutritious meals a necessity.

    Where would you like to volunteer?*

    Review our list of locations above and select all that apply:

    Availability:

    All volunteer opportunities are Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-2pm.

    Meal Delivery Driver:

    Must be 18 years or older.
    Have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
    Non-paid position.
    Mileage reimbursement for miles driven while on your delivery route.
    Background check and training are required.

    Café Assistant:

    Must be 18 years or older.
    Background check and training are required.

    Student Café Assistant:

    Younger volunteers may be placed at specific sites with signed parent/guardian consent form.
    Background check is not required.
    Training is required.

    Greeting Card Creator (REMOTE OPPORTUNITY):

    All ages
    No background check or training are required.

    Step 3: Complete a Background Check

    After we receive your application, you will be invited to complete a background check. Please note that this background check is required for all volunteers and is provided at no cost to you. It is a criminal history check only and will not affect your credit rating.

    Step 4: Complete Required Training

    Training is required for all staff and volunteers prior to their start and every 3 years after. Training takes about 30 minutes. Information on training will be sent to you once we receive the results of your background check.
